THE GEMINI MARS MAN

SunMars

The Approach

You're standing at the bar talking to the hostess of the party. Just as you're in the middle of telling her the sordid details of your most recent adventures, a man's voice interrupts you in mid-sentence with information he obviously believes is vital to your story. “You know, I had that same thing happen to me,” he says. “As a matter of fact, I've got this little book in my pocket that will give you all the information you need about it, and you'll be amazed at how well this author explains it.” Who is this guy? You ask yourself. This Mars in Gemini man has information for you if you want it. Some people enjoy the “think tank” personality of Mars in Gemini, others shy away from it; you're not sure. “So, what do you think about the …” he says as he makes gestures that suggest that the two of you should take a seat on the comfortable-looking couch to have a more in-depth conversation.

You rationalize that at least this would be a quieter place to sit down and get to know each other a little better with a decent conversation. I'm sure you're thinking that a little innocent chat will ensue, and you can go back to the bar. You accept his invitation. As you settle on the couch, he begins by asking your name. After you tell him, then he wants to know your family background, where you went to school, your occupation--on and on. This man never has a conversation without asking questions or presenting you with the possibility of information overload. He's also tangential, so he veers off into family stories, then UFOs before he dives into a religious debate. After the question and answer session, which might take hours, you determine right away that he is sincerely interested in you. He suggests that he take your phone number so he can call you later.
