THE CANCER MARS MAN

The Approach
You're standing at the bar talking to the hostess of the party when a man tips over his drink and spills it on your fine new off-white outfit. Of course, you're startled and a little upset, especially when you realize that this is the same man who has been sitting next to you all night, staring at the olive in his drink. He apologizes profusely as he grabs a napkin and tries to clean up the mess. You appreciate this gesture, but your attire is ruined. As you look at his face and see the moisture in his round, sad eyes, you realize that this is a very sensitive, vulnerable man and you feel sorry for him. You quickly tell him that it's okay and that your outfit will dry and thank goodness it wasn't red wine. You laugh, but at the time you don't know if you should be upset or just intrigued by such a tender man. He asks if he can replace your drink with another and you think,
Well, he is awfully sweet and tender, so sure. Why not?
He hands you a new drink and asks if you would like to step out to the enclosed balcony. You agree. He looks up at the moon and begins to tell you how he recently broke up with his partner of eight years and how bad he feels. He confesses that he doesn't feel that he will ever find another partner. Sure, this person was a lot like his mother, but that was the thing that he liked the most. After all, his mother is a great person. Whenever there is a full moon, he remembers how much fun and fulfilling their relationship is. Apparently, his partner did not find it as fulfilling as he did. As you look into this man's liquid eyes and at the full moon glowing over his head and nesting in the fluffy clouds, you can't stop yourself from being touched by his sincerity and gentleness. He asks if you are a little chilly and before you can answer he whips off his jacket and puts it over your shoulders. This man is sweet and fragile.
